Well Transformers Prime, Transformers 1986 and IDW comics are having the first place that’s for sure

And then the second place is kind of shared by Fall of Cybertron, Exodus, Prime wars trilogy, Robots in disguise(2001) and Transformers One.

The third place goes to G1, Animated, Earthspark, Armada, War for Cybertron Netflix series, Aligned Robots in disguise, Bumblebee, Rise of the Beasts and Cyberverse because I only liked some little parts of them.

And then I also saw some of the Bay movies, Victory and Headmasters and didn’t like them at all.

Separate first place for J-Decker. It is not exactly Transformers but it is a show about giant robots and I loved it

#call me weird for placing cheap ugly shows above Earthspark and Animated #but the thing is #I have when the whole narrative revolves around human kids #*hate #I’m allergic to them #Prime wars trilogy had one of the worst face rigs I ever saw #but it also had Overlord teaming up with evil Rodimus and Megatron being funniest mf alive #Armada is straight up infuriating imma be honest #Armada is like #Au where all the weapons work only once and then just create some glitter #I actually have SO many thoughts on Armada. like. as a writer #the way they keep reusing the same plot 3000 times is borderline impressive #OH War for Cybertron from Netflix was such an experience!#It was so painfully boring and stupid sometimes #but the other times. ooooouuufff. The scene where some nameless decepticon gives Megatron a little tour to show him how him and his friends #-work so hard for the cause??? THAT SHIT HIT HARD #….also I pretty much only like the Quintesson apocalypse arc from the entire Cyberverse #Transformers Victory is fun until you actually hear them speaking #the concept of Star Saber adopting a human child and raising him and then #going to human school as his legal guardian being like ‘yeah sure I can sign all your tiny ass documents’#it’s hilarious but unfortunately all the writers of that anime were snorting cocaine because WHY all the characters talk like that #Animated was fun for me only near the end. Idk what to say. I’m not a fan of any drama centered around humans #things got interesting when Cybertronian government got involved #Earthspark is WHOLE giant topic ahahah. I liked Twitch. sometimes. I also liked Grimlock while he had voice lines. Prowl was fun.#everything else needs and essay haha I don’t wanna annoy anyone #OH I also watching Tf Cybertron right now and this shit is UGLY. they have NO RIGS. forever annoyed at the lack of non-woven jedi garments. excuse you, fibrecraft is the basis of society. where are they getting their cloth from? are they weaving it themselves? are they spinning it themselves? where is the knitwear. you cannot tell me that there are no sweaters in the jedi order. there are probably hideous sweaters made from fourteen different colours of yarn because they're made from the wool leftover from other projects. all of the colours manage to clash. and embroidery is just too good for teaching patience. hand-sewing in general is good and meditative.

these people are going to be darning their own socks, patching holes in their robes. they are going to have needles and thread in their survival kits and know how to hold the cloth tension just right with the force so they can re-weave the bigger holes by using tiny, straight sticks to hold the warp in place.

I always make an effort to look at paranatural through the ~2013 era lens it was conceptualized from, back when it was at it’s most subversive, in tandem alongside its contemporary lens. Because thats what Paranatural was, for those who aren’t aware — paranatural played off of & against the common shonen & cartoon tropes and character expectations that were prevalent in that age: the wise and just mentor, the prejudiced bully, the action girl implemented to pushback against sexism + the subversion of the action girl, the excited rare skilled selfless battleprone protagonist, etc.

most new fans will likely see the comic and take it at face value — why shouldn’t they? — when in reality there’s so much more of a dialogue happening underneath the hood. There is so much underlying, forgotten context that makes paranatural, paranatural

#paranatural #i would give like anything to talk to a pnat fan who was around 18 in 2013 and knew all of this from the get-go #i’ve taught myself it through independent research and studying media trends of that period (plus being a fan circ 2015 but i was on the #younger side.) now everyone in the fandom seems to be younger than me. so if i dont know it then they DEFINITELY dont know it #by which i mean ‘if im not old enough to remember then they definitely arent’#but yeah thats why pnat - especially early pnat - is chock full of so many anime gags and references. like goku dying so much.#whereas now those references have become more…. integrated into the text itself rather than a callback or satirization #thise fans would be in their 30s-ish now and Im not sure how id find them in today’s internet climate. but i so badly want to understand #paranatural as it was conceived as instead of only what it has become #i want a comprehensive understanding #analysis #this is also kind of why i dont think that interpreting pnat through a 2020-2025 cultural lens is going to……. recognize the comic as well #like yeah the audience does have more information about the plot and characters and world and such. but the contexts they were created #within are more or less gone. or theyve shifted to something completely different. the shows that zack created pnat around aren’t popular #in the same way that they were back then; so instead of refracting against those stories in a dialogue people - usually new fans - take the #comic as it is

Honestly, for me anything dramatic in JinMao reunion would have felt odd, I am happy they kept it very usual business-like because these folks are way too professional even in most intense of circumstances. Like after LN5 epilogue the way they talk to each other for a long time is very professional. Although MaoMao's soft, unwavering, slightly shocked gaze was a nice touch. I think the way they turn to professionalism is actually a mutual defense mechanism they have developed to undercut tension/awkwardness/intensity at times. Moreover, it will be nice to see not-so-professional Jinshi in the later two scenes where this scene in retrospect will become funny. However, after the balcony scene, I do hope they do ‘not-so-calm’ Jinshi due justice in carriage scene because that was a SWITCH from how he was behaving till that point. And a very important portrayal of how he ACTUALLY felt about her absence. Till that everything was more or less a facade for him.

Moreover, I feel you get to see intense JinMao only after LN-8, LN-12 onwards is officially together JinMao. So, for me actual important scene is carriage one and maybe the latter one is cherry-on-top for absolutely feral Jinshi. Hope they do both of them justice like the Hunt arc...

penelope: *now ready for the evening*

penelope: *to her handmaiden* thank you for your help.

penelope: *smiles as she’s walking to the bedroom door with her*

penelope: *remembers something* oh! please let the others know to make sure you all grab yourself enough to eat after all the hard work the past couple of days! or take some of the remaining fish & meat home to your families!

penelope: *waves goodbye as her handmaiden leaves the room*

penelope: *closes the door and turns to face odysseus*

odysseus: *still staring out the window*

penelope: odysseus?

odysseus: *no response*

*when they arrive, they see telemachus; who is dressed in more ‘princely’ attire than his usual day-to-day clothing, talking to athena who arrived not long ago*

telemachus: oh! mother, father, you're ready!

athena: *turning to them*

athena: *smiling* good evening

penelope: *smiles back* good evening lady athena

athena: please penelope, i think we’ve known each other long enough… especially after everything in the past year

athena: i’ll go with you to get him

penelope: *laughs* well i guess i might as well join too

*they all head in the direction of the entrance for the palace gardens*

odysseus: *stops them before they all head outside* ok maybe we don’t all need to go down to the sea

odysseus: i’ll go meet him and we’ll both join you shortly

*telemachus, penelope and athena wait by the entrance talking amongst themselves, while odysseus makes his way down to the palace cove*

*odysseus arrives at the cove when he sees poseidon making his way out of the water*

poseidon: *sees odysseus*

poseidon: king of ithaca

odysseus: *deadpan expression* poseidon.

poseidon: *rolls his eyes at odysseus, for the clear lack of title for him*

odysseus: the others are waiting, shall we get going?

poseidon: *drops his hand from his face and then points at odysseus* then why did you shoot me?!

poseidon: *reaches into his chiton and pulls out the arrow he kept there*

poseidon: *shows the arrow to odysseus* please tell me then, what have i done that's got you shooting arrows at the sea?

odysseus: *looking at the arrow, then up to poseidon* i've not shot any arrows at the sea?

odysseus: also, who shoots arrows into the sea?!

poseidon: *hands up in the air in agreement, the arrow being thrown behind him*

poseidon: that's what i said! but who else would it be? it hit the waters of this cove, so unless-

odysseus: *suddenly realises where the arrow has come from*

odysseus: *starts laughing*

poseidon: *brings his hands down and narrows his eyes at odysseus* what is so funny?

odysseus: *wiping a tear away from his eye from laughing so much* my son

poseidon: *now his turn to be confused* huh?

odysseus: *having collected himself * my son, he shot the arrow during archery practice

poseidon: *eyebrow raised* and you're teaching your son to shoot the sea… because?

odysseus: *rolls his eyes* it was an accident, my wife startled him and he misfired.

odysseus: *lets out a tiny chuckle* i can’t believe it made its way to the sea though

poseidon: oh

odysseus: yeah ‘oh’

odysseus: why would you think i’d shoot the sea anyway?

poseidon: *arms now crossed and looking away from odysseus*

poseidon: who knows with you…

odysseus : *smirking* oh poseidon…i’d just use other ways to get your attention

poseidon: *whips his head back to odysseus*

poseidon: *sees odysseus’ shit-eating grin*

poseidon: oh be quiet… what if i arrived early?

poseidon: *points at himself* i could have been hit!

odysseus: *turns to head back up to the palace* anyways, let's head up to the others

poseidon: *realising what odysseus said* wait-

odysseus: *just keeps walking ignoring poseidon’s outburst*

poseidon: *grumbles under his breath but swiftly walks to catch up odysseus*

*odysseus & poseidon make their way to the palace garden entrance where now only athena is waiting*

odysseus: *looking to athena* where-

athena: *already knows what odysseus is going to ask* they headed to the dining hall.

athena: telemachus wanted to check some final things and penelope left to accompany him.

odysseus: *nods at her explanation*

athena: *turns to look at poseidon*

athena: *nods head at poseidon* uncle

poseidon: *blank look on his face* athena.

athena: *now looking at her nails* not seen you since you were up on olympus in apollo’s infirmary…

athena: *looks back at poseidon and grins* speaking of which… how’s your chest?

poseidon: *scoffs and crosses his arms* fine.

poseidon: *suddenly smirks back* need i remind you that you were also there for a similar reason…how’s your face?

athena: *grin has left her face and now narrows her eyes at poseidon*

odysseus: *not wanting to deal with two bickering gods*

odysseus: *claps his hands together sharply* OK! how about we don’t fight in my palace, yeah?

odysseus: besides, telemachus has been extremely excited about tonight’s dinner, so i do not want anything ruining it…
